Why should I use MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

The MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card with direct deposit is a great financial alternative to check cashing and a checking account. You can use it to pay bills and make everyday purchases everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. How do I get a MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

Successfully complete the simple online form and your card will arrive in approximately 7-10 business days! There’s NO CREDIT CHECK. To receive your card, you will be required to provide your name, street address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We must collect this information in accordance with The USA PATRIOT Act*, a Federal law that requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What do I do when I receive my Card in the mail?

When your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card arrives, simply call to activate or go online and create your account. Follow the printed activation instructions that arrive with your card.

Who do I call if I have questions?

You can talk to a Customer Support agent 24/7 by calling the number on the back of your card.

• For cards issued by Central Bank of Kansas City, the number is 888-839-6090.
• For cards issued by Metropolitan Commercial Bank, the number is 888-312-3192.

How does the MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card differ from a credit card or bank debit card?

The MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card is a prepaid card and you spend only the amount of funds placed on your Card. No additional bank account needed, no credit checks. It works similar to a debit card and can be used at ATMs, retail stores and online worldwide. You are in control of your spending. It also helps protect against identity theft and fraud because it is not linked to a bank account.

How does the MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card protect my identity and money from theft?

First of all, the money on your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card is not linked to your savings or checking accounts or any of your other accounts. If you lose your Card please report it lost or stolen immediately to Customer Care to protect your balance. Please refer to the Cardholder Agreement for additional details. Lastly, your monthly statements are online and not mailed to your home, protecting your personal name, address and account information from mail fraud – one of the fastest growing and quickest ways for thieves to steal your identity.

The MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card can be used at over 1 million ATMs and millions of retail stores worldwide, online or over the phone. The MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card can be used everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted. Use your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card to purchase groceries, gas, music or books online, rent a car, or anything you would like.

To save both time and money, when you use your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card at retailers, choose the cash back option – no need to make a separate trip to an ATM to get cash.

What are the fees?

Currently, our fee structure makes it easy to keep your money in your pocket and avoid losing it to fees. MyAccount has 1 monthly Maintenance Fee, charged on the first of every month. The amount is determined by the total amount you add via direct deposit and cash loads in the previous calendar month.

Will MyAccount assess a Monthly Maintenance Fee even if I don't use the card?

Yes. Your card is subject to the Monthly Charge as long as it is open. The best way to eliminate the assessment of a Monthly Maintenance Fee is to deposit at least $1,000 per month in your card account.

Will MyAccount assess a Monthly Maintenance Fee if there is a $0 balance on my card?

Yes, but not for a period longer than 90 days. Your card account will not continue into the negative after this period.

How and where do I load money onto my MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

There are two primary ways to add money onto your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card:
1) Direct Deposit: Direct deposit all or part of your paycheck, social security, even your tax return refund right onto your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card
2) Add Cash at any GreenDot or MoneyGram Locations: Just bring your card and the amount you want to load to the location - it’s easy! Locations include Convenience and Grocery Stores, Financial Service Centers and Pharmacies. (Fees and reload limits may apply and vary by retailer and method.

Can I wire money from my Bank Account into my MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

No, we do not accept wire transfers onto your MyAccount Prepaid Card.

Can I send you a check to load money onto my MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

No, we do not accept paper checks. We may destroy or return a paper check. Please do not send a paper check to our attention.

Is there a limit on how much I can load onto my MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card?

Yes, you can load up to $6,000 per day onto your MyAccount Prepaid Card via direct deposit or $999 cash deposit.

What is the maximum balance I can have on the card?

The maximum balance is $10,000.

How can I send money to another MyAccount Visa Card?

You can send money to another MyAccount Prepaid Card or receive money from another MyAccount Prepaid Card. To send money, log in to the secure cardholder center, click on the Card-to-Card Transfer tab at the top right of the page, and enter the card number and amount you would like to move. The amount is immediately deducted from your balance and added to theirs. Restrictions and fees apply.

How do I view my account activity?

You can view your account activity by logging into the secure cardholder center The Account Transactions page displays a history of transactions and available balance.

How do I check my balance?

Check your balance for free anytime online by logging in to MyAccount.com, with the MyAccount Mobile App or by calling the number on the back of your card.

What if I don’t have enough money in my account, can I make a purchase?

No, since your MyAccount Visa is prepaid, you can only spend the available balance on your card.

What if I disagree with a transaction that has posted to my account?

You can call Customer Care and a representative will assist you, we pride ourselves in putting the customer first!

What are pending transactions?

This is the amount of money that has been set aside for purchases made with your Card, but have not yet been collected by the merchant.

I bought something online but my balance doesn't show that the purchase was made, why?

Many websites and phone merchants process all their orders at the end of the day. It may take 24-48 hours before you see the charge on your card. Many do not process orders until the merchandise is shipped, so that may be another reason why you cannot see the charges yet.

How does my card work when I use it to pay for GAS?

PAY-AT-THE-PUMP
Your card will be authorized for $75 when purchasing fuel using pay-at-the-pump gas terminals. The difference between the authorization and the purchase amount will be posted to your card details section on our website when the transaction settles 1-2 business days later.
Example: If you purchase $12.00 in fuel, $75 will be reserved until the $12.00 transaction settles to your card. The difference of $63.00 will become available on your card when the transaction settles. To avoid any authorization issues, take your MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card to the Cashier inside to process the transaction.

How do Restaurants process my payment?

Some Restaurants may authorize your card for 15% to 20% over the total amount of the bill to cover any tip you wish to leave.
Example: If you take your family to dinner and the bill comes to $60.00, the restaurant will usually authorize your card for $72.00 (20% over) not $60.00. If you choose to leave an $8.00 tip, the $72.00 will show in the authorization section until the actual amount of $68.00 settles to your card. The difference of $4.00 will become available on your card when the transaction settles

Can I use the MyAccount Visa Prepaid Card to rent a car?

Some car rental companies may choose not to accept prepaid cards at the time of rental. When using your card with a car rental company they will authorize a specific dollar amount at the counter. MyAccount allows car rental companies to settle the transaction for $250.00 over the authorized amount. To ensure available funds, there will be an additional $250.00 added to all car rental authorizations.

Example: If you rent a car for three days the car rental company may run a $300.00 authorization, which will appear as a $550.00 authorization in your transaction history. When you return the car and close the rental contract, the actual amount of the rental will be displayed in the transaction history and the difference will become available on your balance. Car rental companies may also choose to run multiple authorizations during the car rental contract. All car rental authorizations will remain on your Card for at least 10 business days.

How do car rental authorization removals work?

In order for us to remove a car rental authorization, we need the Final Rental agreement faxed to us and the charge must be either settled on the card or paid for by other means. Once the authorization has been expired it will be removed from the "Authorization Details" section and the funds will become available on your card.

What if someone steals my card or uses it without my permission?

Tell us AT ONCE if you believe your Card or PIN (or any password or code used to access your card account or Card funds) has been lost or stolen. Telephone us promptly at 888-839-6090 or write to MyAccount Prepaid Card Services, PO Box 1390, Boca Raton, FL, 33429.
